Two members of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in the Bechem District have died, and several others have sustained critical injuries, following a road accident on Sunday while returning from a camp meeting.
A statement issued by the South Ghana Union Conference of the SDA Church on Sunday, August 10, said,
“We’ve received heartbreaking reports that some members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Bechem District were involved in a serious accident while returning from a camp meeting. Sadly, two lives have been lost, and several others are currently receiving treatment for critical injuries.”
Details about the cause of the accident remain unclear, but the injured are reportedly receiving emergency medical care.
The church has called on members and the public to remember the affected families and the entire SDA community in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult period.
“Please keep the affected families and the entire SDA community in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” they added.
