Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has assured the people of Mempongteng and surrounding communities in the Ashanti Region of government’s commitment to completing the town’s long-abandoned market project.
Speaking during her tour of the region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang underscored the importance of markets in society, noting that they provide food and livelihood for families.
She stressed that markets serve both men and women, making their completion a priority for government.
“As one people, what matters most is choosing leaders who can bring development,” she stated.
She added that although the Mempongteng market had stalled for many years, government is now determined to finish it for the benefit of the people.
