The Volta River Authority (VRA) has clarified that a helicopter which made an emergency landing near the Nkawkaw bypass does not belong to the Authority.
Francis Abban, Manager of Corporate and Communication Branding at VRA, said the Jet A-1 helicopter with registration number 9G-AFW, is owned by Volta River Aviation Limited an entirely separate company with no affiliation to VRA.
Speaking on Happy Kaseɛbɔ, Mr. Abban stressed that VRA does not operate aviation services, contrary to media reports suggesting otherwise.
He urged the public to disregard the misinformation and advised media houses to verify information with VRA’s Corporate Affairs and External Relations Department before publication.
“This helicopter has no connection to our institution,” Mr. Abban said. “Volta River Aviation Limited is a distinct entity, and we encourage accurate reporting to avoid public confusion.”
