The 2019 edition of the West African Clinical Alliance Awards (WACAA) has been launched in Accra, with the assurance of recognizing distinguished health facilities from three (3) Countries in the West African Sub region.

Scheduled for November, 23 2019 at Holiday INN hotel in Accra, the WACAA will award health facilities from Ghana, Nigeria and Baukina Faso. This year’s event is the 3rd edition.

At the launch the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gehab Events Mrs. Appiah Kubi revealed that “the  WACAA will this year award fifty (50) distinguished health facilities across the West African sub region.
According to her ‘’we awarded twenty (20) under seven (7) categories last year, and this year we are recognizing fifty (50) awardees across the categories; Alternative health facilities, Orthodox health facilities, Allied health facilities, Faith based health facilities and special awards for health personalities, health executive awards and NEIP beneficiaries awards’’.

Mrs. Kubi, mentioned that  “there has been a common trend that seeks to criticize and amplify the challenges and mistakes of health facilities and practitioners over the years”.

She, however, reiterated that the aim of the WACAA’s was to celebrate the progress, contributions of many unsung heroes within the health sector in spite of the many challenges.

Explaining the process involved in the awards scheme,  Mr. Abdulsalam Mohammed, the CEO of Corporate Health Ghana Limited, announced that “nominations will open from September 2 to September 23, 2019. The first stage is the launch and the stakeholder engagement, then we move to opening and closing of nominations which will lead to the reviewing stage and shortlisting of the nominees. The fifth stage is the acceptance and confirmation of nomination.  And at the final stage we will announce the nominees and profile them’’.

He urged nominees to reserve their tickets as well as assured the public that the WACAA is a credible scheme.
