The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confiscated a mobile phone from Bright Amoah, an invigilator at Armed Forces Senior High Technical School in Accra, over suspected exam malpractice.
The incident occurred on Monday, August 25, during WAEC’s monitoring exercise while candidates were writing the Social Studies paper.
The phone reportedly contained solved questions from previously written WASSCE papers, Oral English and Picture Making raising suspicions of foul play.
WAEC has directed the Examination Centre Supervisor to submit a report on why the invigilator had a phone in the exam hall, a violation of Council regulations.
Speaking to the media, WAEC’s Head of National Office, Dr. Rosemond Wilson, confirmed that Mr. Amoah will be handed over to the Ghana Education Service for further action.
