Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has highlighted significant progress stemming from the ongoing institutional overhaul at Ghana’s Embassy in Washington DC.
In a recent post shared on his official social media platforms, the minister noted that these developments were observed during a working visit to the embassy, where he conducted a supervisory exercise aimed at assessing the level of professional responsiveness at the mission, rebranding Ghana’s image abroad, and affirming the country’s openness to international business.
“We are working hard to improve client relations, instill a culture of professional responsiveness, project a new reset image of Ghana, and demonstrate that Ghana is truly open for business, as President Mahama proclaimed at his investiture,” he stated.
Among the key milestones recorded, the Minister highlighted the issuance of over 7,500 visas as a significant marker of improved service delivery.
“I am delighted to note that since the re-opening of the Washington mission on May 27, 2025, more than 7,500 visas have been issued,” he added.
The update is part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enhance diplomatic engagement, streamline consular services, and present a forward-facing, responsive Ghanaian foreign mission on the global stage.
