The Director General of the National Sports Authority Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah has revealed that the scoreboard of the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi will be replaced with an LED scoreboard as well as LED pitch panels.
According to the former three-time Parliamentarian, the old scoreboard only needed some parts to be replaced but because the scoreboard was an outmoded one and not in vogue, they couldn’t get it.
Speaking on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports hosted by PJ Mozey, Hon. Sarfo Mensah disclosed that the authority is looking at the Private-Public Partnership for the LED pitch panels.
“We will replace the scoreboard of both the Accra Sports Stadium and the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. For the Baba Yara Stadium, we will replace the scoreboard with an LED one and also put up LED pitch panels which could be used for several purposes to general more funds for the authority.” He told Happy FM.
The scoreboards of the Accra Sports Stadium And the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium have been dysfunctional for a while and there are plans to replace them.
