National Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA UoG), George Ansong, has declared that, members will not resume work until their demands are met.

He say, ‘’we don’t just embark on strike, we embark on strike to demand certain things and until those demands are met, we are not working.

Mr. Ansong expressed worry over the delay of negotiation, which he said all necessary documents have been signed, awaiting payment but surprisingly, till date their allowance have not been paid.

“I don’t expect anything substantial to come out of this meeting because the Ministry of Finance, which is crucial to addressing our concerns, is not directly involved. It has taken three weeks of strike action for the Ministry of Education to finally invite us to a meeting, which is concerning,”.

He added “this is not the first time we are seeing some of these things. We often attend meetings, and are promised action, but then nothing changes,”.

Meanwhile, labour unions under the Education sector is set to meet with the minister on Tuesday October 1, 2024 to discuss their demands which have caused a huge disruption across schools in the country.
