Deputy coach of Asante Kotoko Akakpo Patron has indicated that the technical team will continue to give all the necessary support and motivation to striker Songne Yacouba so he can rediscover his goal scoring touch.

Yacouba is currently on a goal drought and has failed to score in seven competitive games for the Porcupine Warriors.

The Burkinabe missed a lot of chances in Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup game against ZESCO United despite registering two assists on match day – Having registered five assists in the Confederation Cup campaign.

The 26-year-old’s recent form has been remarkable concerning his creativity in the final third of the pitch but lack of goals seems to be putting him under intense pressure.

In an interview with Happy FM, Akakpo Patron, assistant head coach of Asante Kotoko stated that the technical team is working on the goal scoring abilities of the attacker.

“We are working on Sogne Yacouba. Talking and motivating him to improve. Although he is providing the assists for the scorers, we are working on his goals scoring abilities,” he told Happpy FM.

Yacouba was impressive for Kotoko during the team’s pre-tournament preparations. However he is failed to score against AshantiGold in the John Agyekum Kuffour Cup, Kariobangi Sharks, Coton Sports, Al Hilal and ZESCO United.
