Omanhene of New Juaben, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a distinguished indigene, the late former Defence Minister, Edward Omane Boamah.
Speaking to the press, the chief described Omane Boamah as instrumental in the development of the area within the Eastern Region of Ghana. “New Juabeng has lost a treasure, Ghana has lost a treasure.”
He noted that the passing of Omane Boamah, along with seven other state officials in the line of duty, should stand as an enduring example of bravery for all Ghanaians. “May their bravery inspire a safer and more sustainable future for our nation,” he said.
The Government of Ghana has declared a three-day mourning period for the eight heroes, including Omane Boamah. Many prominent figures visited the Jubilee House Gardens to pay their respects to the fallen servants of the state.
