Supporters of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect him as the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

In an interview with Happyghana.com, the supporters explained that Dr. Bawumia’s campaign slogan, “Win With Bawumia – Aka 9Pɛ,” highlights his advantage as a candidate who has already contested the presidency in 2024, securing 41.7% of the total votes.

They argued that because he is already well known to Ghanaians, sending him forward again would give the NPP a stronger chance at victory, since he would only need an additional 9% of the votes to become president.

They further stressed that choosing Dr. Bawumia would be more strategic than selecting a new candidate “who would have to start from zero.”
