Students of the College of Health at Yamfo in the Ahafo Region have appealed to President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister of Health to reverse the transfer of the institution’s Director, Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Ibrahim.
At a press conference, SRC President Yeboah Dennis Nkrumah expressed the students’ and staff’s disappointment over the move, describing Dr. Ibrahim’s leadership as transformative and instrumental in the school’s recent progress.
He noted that under Dr. Ibrahim’s tenure, the college had overcome long-standing challenges such as inadequate accommodation and limited lecture spaces—achievements that led to higher student enrollment and improved academic performance.
“Since Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim assumed office, the College of Health, Yamfo, has become one of the best in the country. His transfer will greatly hinder our progress,” Nkrumah stated.
TEIN Women Commissioners, Boakye Pokuaa Agnes and Irene Affum Bema, also commended Dr. Ibrahim for enhancing campus security through initiatives such as installing CCTV cameras and constructing a perimeter wall.
The students are therefore urging the authorities to reconsider the decision, insisting that Dr. Ibrahim’s continued leadership is essential to sustaining the college’s development.
