YFM, Ghana’s most influential radio brand among young audiences, in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ghana, is set to launch FrancoVybz, an engaging new podcast exploring the connections between Ghana and the Francophone world through cultural and creative industries, education and business.

FrancoVybz is designed as a fresh platform for conversation, discovery and cultural exchange, examining the many ways French influence and Francophone culture intersect with Ghanaian life, while highlighting France’s contribution to and partnership with Ghana across its growing creative, educational and business ecosystems.

The podcast will bring together key personalities from Ghana’s creative and cultural space, alongside experts and practitioners whose experiences offer unique perspectives on the relationship between Ghana and the Francophone world.

From music and pop culture to fashion, cinema and theatre, visual arts, video games, technology and digital culture, FrancoVybz will explore the cultural connections that are sometimes visible, sometimes subtle, but increasingly relevant to a young and globally connected Ghanaian audience.

The 10-episode series will also explore gastronomy and hospitality, Francophone communities in Ghana, entrepreneurship, employability and business, as well as sports. Through these conversations, the podcast will highlight the role of culture, language, creativity and international collaboration in creating opportunities and strengthening connections between Ghana and France.

At the centre of the project is an exciting team of experts and creatives led by award-winning broadcaster Rev. Erskine, Programs Manager of YFM Accra and host of FrancoVybz. Known for his ability to combine insightful conversations with energy, humour and entertainment, Rev. Erskine will guide listeners through conversations designed to inform, engage and entertain.

Speaking about FrancoVybz, Rev Erskine said the podcast is intended to open up a different kind of conversation about the relationship between Ghana and the Francophone world. “FrancoVybz is about discovering the connections we already have, the influences we sometimes overlook, and the possibilities that emerge when Ghanaian and French cultures meet. We want every episode to give our audience something to learn, something to enjoy and perhaps something to see differently. It is insightful, it is fun, it is entertaining, and it is a new way to vybe away.”
For YFM, the collaboration further reinforces its longstanding commitment to creating content that speaks directly to the interests, aspirations and experiences of young audiences.

YFM’s consistency in delivering engaging content and connecting with audiences has strengthened its position as Ghana’s No. 1 radio brand among young audiences. Across its platforms, the brand continues to connect young audiences with music, culture, entertainment, brands, opportunities and conversations that matter to them.

In Accra, YFM remains one of the capital’s influential English-language stations, consistently ranking among the top 3 English stations while maintaining its No.1 English language spot in Kumasi and Takoradi.

Dr. Timothy Karikari, Director of Broadcast at Global Media Alliance, said the collaboration reflects YFM’s commitment to using its platform to create meaningful conversations that extend beyond entertainment. “YFM has always understood that youth culture is not static; it is shaped by the world around us. FrancoVybz gives us an opportunity to explore the cultural, creative and professional connections between Ghana and the Francophone world in a way that is relevant to today’s young audience. Through this partnership, we are creating a platform for cultural exchange, discovery and opportunity, while reinforcing YFM’s role as a leading voice in Ghana’s youth and urban culture.”

FrancoVybz will air on YFM Saturdays at 3:30pm starting 15th August 2026, with a repeat broadcast on Wednesdays at 10:00pm. Beyond radio, the podcast will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Audiomack, all under the name FrancoVybz, while video episodes will be available on YouTube at FrancoVybz.

With each episode bringing together compelling personalities, experts and stories from Ghana’s creative, cultural, educational and business landscape, FrancoVybz promises audiences a fresh perspective on the relationship between Ghana and the Francophone world, the influences that connect these different cultures, and the opportunities that can emerge when they meet.
