YFM Ghana and Channel Africa are set to make broadcast history as the two African radio brands collaborate on a unique New Year cross-over, marking the beginning of a strategic Pan-African partnership between Ghana and South Africa.

At exactly 10:00pm Ghana time (midnight South Africa time), Channel Africa will usher in 2026 live from South Africa, with YFM Ghana carrying the broadcast live to its audience. As part of the collaboration, Rev Erskine will lead the YFM Ghana segment of the broadcast, connecting Ghanaian listeners to the historic moment.

The partnership will continue at midnight Ghana time (2:00am South Africa time), when YFM Ghana will officially cross over into 2026, again in a shared live broadcast with Channel Africa, reinforcing the continental connection between the two brands.

The collaboration draws on the deep cultural and spiritual significance of “crossover” across Africa, a moment widely marked with reflection, prayer, and renewed hope for the year ahead.

Commenting on the significance of the partnership, Dr. Timothy Kwakye Karikari, Director of Broadcast at Global Media Alliance Broadcast Co., said:

“This crossover represents more than a moment on air; it signals our Pan-African expansion agenda. At YFM Ghana, we are intentional about building strong continental partnerships that extend our reach, deepen our relevance, and connect African audiences beyond borders. Partnering Channel Africa for this landmark crossover is a clear step in that direction.”

Channel Africa also highlighted the importance of the collaboration and its future potential.

“‘Crossover’ is a significant cultural and spiritual event, with churches and related events hosting large gatherings to pray for success and blessings in the new year. Channel Africa and YFM Ghana have joined forces to connect and reach audiences in and around the continent, capture the festive mood and build on commercial success. This is the beginning of many, where projects will be done jointly to create visibility and increase awareness,” said Ms. Tokologo Mokoena, Marketing and Business Development Manager, Channel Africa.

The cross-border broadcast marks the start of a long-term collaboration between YFM Ghana and Channel Africa, with both brands committed to joint content initiatives, increased visibility, and stronger Pan-African media connections.
