YFM, Ghana’s No.1 radio brand among young audiences, has partnered with the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment to amplify the voices of young people at the ministry’s National Youth Forum 2026, scheduled for Wednesday, 19th August 2026 at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium, UPSA, Accra.

Held under the theme, “A Sound Youth, A Sound Nation: Your Voice. Your Future. Our Ghana,” the forum is designed to provide young people with a national platform to share their concerns, priorities, ideas and expectations and contribute to conversations that can shape policies and programmes affecting Ghana’s youth.

YFM will support the forum with a live outside broadcast (OB), bringing selected parts of the conversation directly to its audiences in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi. The forum will also be streamed live across YFM’s social media platforms, allowing young people beyond Accra to follow the discussions and be part of the national conversation.

The partnership extends beyond the day of the forum.Ahead of the event, YFM is engaging its young audience across its three stations to collect their concerns, priorities, expectations and ideas on the issues that matter most to them. These inputs will be collated into a combined YFM youth perspective and presented to the Ministry at the National Youth Forum, ensuring that the voices of young people who may be unable to attend physically are also represented.
The initiative reflects YFM’s long-standing commitment to creating platforms where young people can participate in conversations that affect their lives and future.
Speaking on the partnership, Dr. Timothy Karikari, Director of Broadcast at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC), said the National Youth Forum represents the kind of platform that aligns strongly with YFM’s role as a youth-focused media brand.
“Young people are not just an audience for YFM; we are part of the generation shaping Ghana’s future. This partnership gives us an opportunity to do what YFM has always done; create space for young people to speak, connect and participate in conversations that matter. We are particularly excited that we can take the voices of our audiences from Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi to the national conversation, including those who may not be physically present at the forum.”

He also commended the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment; Hon. George Opare Addo for initiating this innovative approach to youth development. He said “I commend the Hon Minister and his team for coming up with this. Many times, policies are set without the input of those whose lives it will affect but for his ministry, engagement is always their first step”.

YFM’s consistency has strengthened its position as Ghana’s No. 1 radio brand among young audiences. Across its platforms, the brand continues to connect young audiences with music, culture, entertainment, opportunities and conversations that matter to them.
In Accra, YFM remains one of the capital’s influential English-language stations, consistently ranking among the top 3 English stations, while maintaining its No.1 English-language position in Kumasi and Takoradi.

Young people who are unable to attend the forum physically can follow the proceedings through YFM’s broadcasts and social media platforms. They can also send their concerns and priorities to YFM ahead of the event for consideration in the collective submission to the Ministry.

The National Youth Forum 2026 takes place on Wednesday, 19th August 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium, UPSA, Accra.
The forum is being held under the theme: “A Sound Youth, A Sound Nation: Your Voice. Your Future. Our Ghana.”
