The Member of Parliament for Madina and Human rights lawyer, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has thrown his weight behind Sammy Gyamfi following a viral video that has sparked heated discussions across social media.
The video in question shows the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi, handing over what appears to be dollar bills to Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.
The footage has ignited a flurry of criticism and speculation, particularly from political opponents and social commentators questioning the source and motive of the funds.
In a Facebook post on Monday, May12, 2025, Francis-Xavier Sosu described the backlash as nothing more than envy and disbelief over Gyamfi’s ability to be a blessing to others.
“It is well. You committed no crime. The haters are hurt. They can’t believe that God can lift and bless you such that you can become a blessing unto others. Leave them – let them do their worst. We got you. God has your back. Stay focused and blessed,” Sosu wrote.
The MP’s comments have been interpreted by many as an attempt to defuse the controversy and reposition Gyamfi’s gesture as an act of generosity rather than impropriety.
