Awal Mohammed, the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of the Youth Employment Agency(YEA) has announced that it has been contracted by the Ministry of Inner-City and Zongo Development(MICZD) to engage over three thousand Arabic tutors across the country.
Awal Mohammed made this comment on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
He said per the agreement with the ministry, YEA will be engaging the Arabic tutors to make the study of the subject examinable as part of the promise the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made to the Zongo communities.
He said the job agency and the ministry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the ministry where the minister Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface through the Chief Director of the ministry Gifty Mahama presented a cheque of three million Ghana Cedis to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of YEA, Ibrahim Bashiru.
According to him, the ministry signed the MOU with YEA because it has the capacity to deliver on engaging the Arabic tutors.
Already the agency is working to engage some eighteen thousand Arabic teachers irrespective of their ages across the country.
