Eleven passengers have been confirmed dead in a gruesome accident at Mankron, a community near Suhum along the Accra-Kumasi highway.
Information reaching Happyghana.com indicates that, the accident that occurred in the hours of 5:00 am on Wednesday June 13, recorded 64 degrees of injuries and eleven dead – five males and 6 females confirmed dead-.
The accident occurred when Kia Granbird bus the with registration number GN 6600-17 travelling from Kumasi to Accra collided head-on with the other bus also KIA Granbird GS 835- 16 which was travelling from Aflao to Kumasi. Both drivers of the bus are also confirmed dead.
The passengers who sustained various degrees of injuries are being treated at the Suhum Government Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital in the Eastern Region.
The situation has led to heavy vehicular traffic on the road as that portion of the highway has been blocked.
