2023 African Games: Zimbabwe beat South Africa to win Gold, Nigeria claims Bronze in women’s cricket competition

Zimbabwe has defeated powerhouse South Africa in the finals of the 2023 Africa Games Women’s Cricket Competition.

Zimbabwe claimed the gold medal with a victory in the Super Over’s after a 170 score tie in the overs.

Nigeria on the other hand won bronze following their victory over Uganda in the third place game.

Nigeria won by three wickets with four balls remaining to take to scores to 78/7 as against 76/8.

Kalise Lovu, Zimbabwe – Player of the Match And Player of the Tournament

Emmanuel Dubey, Zimbabwe – Referee of the tournament

Janet Mbabaze, Uganda – Best Fielder

Lilian Udeh, Nigeria – Best Boller

Modesta Mupachekwa, Zimbabwe – Best Batter
