The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has given the Black Stars a major boost ahead of their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers by approving a budget of $1.12 million.

Ghana will face the Central African Republic in Casablanca on October 8 before returning home to battle Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, two decisive matches that could secure the nation’s ticket to the global showpiece.

Sports Minister Kofi Adams confirmed the approval at a press briefing on Monday, September 29, noting that the Ghana Football Association’s proposal was well within range.

“The FA submitted a budget within an acceptable range, and the Ministry did not need to add any comments,” he explained. “The estimates were formally submitted on September 18, and in line with due process, we forwarded them to the Presidency the next day. The total cost of $1.12 million covers $733,000 for the away game in Casablanca and $387,000 for the home fixture in Accra.”

With camp reopening in the coming days, the Black Stars now have the financial backing to focus fully on the task at hand, finishing the qualifiers strongly and booking their place at the 2026 World Cup.
