UN teams operating within the Gaza Strip have successfully delivered over 90 lorry loads of humanitarian aid to thousands of Palestinians in need.
According to reports, the aid had been delayed for three days due to a blockage at a single access point that had remained closed for 11 weeks by the Israeli military.
The supplies—including flour, baby food, and medical equipment—were collected from the Kerem Shalom crossing on Wednesday night and transported to warehouses for distribution.
Despite the successful delivery, the aid is not expected to be enough to address the acute levels of hunger among Gaza’s 2.1 million residents. Severe shortages of essential food items and soaring prices continue to plague the population.
Palestinian Authority Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan, speaking from the occupied West Bank, told reporters in Geneva on Thursday that 29 children had died from “starvation-related” causes in recent days, according to Reuters news agency.
