Senior Lecturer at University of Ghana, Department of Statistics, Louis Asiedu has said that even though the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is on the right path of analyzing the election data to determine the outcome of the election, the Party must guard against doing this with violence.

Speaking in an interview with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show, he said: “The NDC getting the pink sheets and the numbers is in place. It is an academic exercise and it should be devoid of violence. If you get your pink sheets, you do your detailed analysis to know if it tallies with the EC’s numbers. THE EC may have published the declared pink sheets on its websites. You can match all these things to know where the figure vary to know if it’s enough to overturn the elections.

Even when you discover anomalies you need to analyze it to know if it is enough to change your percentage or results. So what the NDC is doing is in place but it should be devoid of violence”.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana officially declared President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the winner of the 2020 general election.

However, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has threatened to take legal steps to reverse the results of the 2020 elections as declared by the EC.

The party has taken steps to contest the results of the elections. For example, the Presidential candidate of the opposition NDC, Ex-President John Dramani Mahama will on Wednesday visit the Electoral Commission (EC) office in the Techiman South Constituency to demand copies of the pink sheets and collation sheet used to declare the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah as the Member of Parliament-elect.
