The Ga- Dangme council has expressed its gratitude to the Director General of the Ghana Education Dr, Eric Nkansah for re-posting fourteen (14) professional graduate teachers with bachelors of Education, with specialization in the Ga and Dangme languages to the Greater Accra Region.

The Ga Dangme Council in a statement released on Wednesday 4th September, 2024, announced the reposting of these 14 professional graduates.

According to the statement, many Ga Dangmes including Nii Ga and the Ga Traditional Council have in the past bemoaned the unfortunate posting of Ga and Dangme teachers outside the region.

The Ga Dangme council emphasized that they recognize the importance of preseving and protecting the indigenous languages of the region especially where those languages are threatened with extinction due to the dominance of other languages.

This decision comes as part of the council’s ongoing efforts to ensure that teachers who graduate specializing in those two languages are posted to teach in the Greater Accra Region instead of posting them outside the region to places where attitude to those languages will not promote their growth and inclusivity.
