On June 12, 2025, the Central East Regional Police Command carried out a special operation, leading to the arrest of 19 individuals suspected of involvement in illicit drug trade and robbery in Gomoa Dominase and the Onion Market in the Central Region.
During the operation, authorities seized substances suspected to be Indian hemp as well as controlled pharmaceutical drugs like Tramadol and ‘Red’, according to a statement released by the police on June 13, 2025.
The suspects are currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and will be put before court soon.
The Regional Police Command commended the officers for their efforts and encouraged them to remain steadfast in the fight against crime.
The public has also been urged to provide relevant information to help combat drug-related activities and maintain security in the community.
