The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a full-scale investigation into alleged examination malpractices during the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), following a documentary aired by JoyNews TV.

In a statement released by the PRO, Daniel Fenyi, the Service confirmed it will obtain the full documentary and original transcripts for scrutiny.

“Management reiterates its absolute aversion to examination malpractice. Cheating undermines the integrity of our education system, destroys meritocracy, and produces graduates who lack the competencies required for national development.”

GES emphasized that any staff member teaching or non-teaching, found complicit will face severe disciplinary action.

“With the support of the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and the GES Council, we will sanction any official found aiding or abetting cheating,” the statement added.

GES assured stakeholders of its commitment to uphold examination integrity and pledged to collaborate with WAEC, National Security, and law enforcement agencies to “stamp out this menace.”
