The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has disclosed that he intends to retire from Parliament in the near future, encouraging constituents who aspire to represent the area to begin preparing themselves for leadership.
The fourth-term MP, who also serves as Minister for Foreign Affairs, said significant investment has been made in human capital development within the constituency, producing professionals such as aeronautical engineers, lawyers and future legislators to sustain the high standards established in North Tongu
Mr. Ablakwa made the remarks at Juapong during the presentation of financial support to fifty students under the MP’s Scholarship Scheme.
“We are producing engineers, lawyers, aeronautical engineers and future Members of Parliament who will be taking over from me because I will be retiring soon. We are also nurturing future presidents and teachers who will help maintain the high standards we are laying here,” he said.
He urged the beneficiaries to remain disciplined, focused and committed to academic excellence, expressing pride in being able to support their educational ambitions.
“Keep making me proud. I am always excited to hand out these scholarships,” Mr. Ablakwa added.
