Saturday the 25th of July was a joyous occasion for the children of Trinity Home Academy when the Accra Platinum Lion’s Club visited them to make a donation to the home. Like the Lions Clubs International, they have four thematic areas their service activities are hinged on which are Eyesight, Environment, Childhood cancer, Diabetes and Feeding the hungry.

The Accra Platinum lions club has always had a standing relationship with the Trinity Home Academy, which is a home to about 125 children . The home is located in Tutu.

The recent pandemic has affected support to many of these homes. The President of the club, Lion George Tagoe in presenting PPE to the home, adviced the kids on the need to stay healthy as they are the future leaders of the country. He said “as we have been told, proper hand washing with soap under running water , use of face masks, staying home or avoiding crowded places is important as well as the use of hand sanitizer in order to keep the virus in check”.

The items donated included face masks, thermometer gun, liquid soap and hand sanitizers. An important component was food items to keep the bodies of these little ones healthy.

Lion George Tagoe, President of the club assured them of the club’s support when called upon. He also called on benevolent organisations and individuals to reach out to the vulnerable in the society in order to make the world a better place.

Madam Sophie the mother of the home, expressed profound gratitude for the donation and prayed that more support will be extended to the home by all and sundry.
