Amidu must investigate president’s payment of compensation to hawkers

The Deputy General Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC); Koku Anyidoho has made a strong case for the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu to investigate the circumstances rounding the payment of compensation to the hawkers around president’s Nima private residence in Accra.
According to him, this is a test case for the Special Prosecutor’s office to unravel how the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo –Addo got the moneys, he dole out to the hawkers around his private residence as compensation for evacuating them for security reasons.
The Special Prosecutor must tell Ghanaians how the president came by the moneys he doled out as compensation to the evacuees around his private residence he insisted.
Mr. Anyidoho who is gunning for his boss’ position as the General Secretary of the party in the upcoming internal party elections made this demand when he interacted with the host of the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show Dr. Cann on Accra-based Happy FM in Accra.
He claimed that the first gentleman who prides himself as a human right lawyer has abused the rights of the people living and doing business around his private residence.
He urged the president to leave the hawkers around his residence to ply their jobs since a state facility for his upkeep and security has made available to him.
He questioned why the security of the innocent hawkers around the private residence of the president were also not taken into consideration.
‘Now these hawkers around the president’s private residence will be rendered homeless and jobless by these actions of the president he maintained
It is the same president who people during the last elections told the hawkers that he feels comfortable living them as he has been a ‘Nima boy’ all his life he said.
Is it a case of the president deceiving the innocent hawkers round his house by being insensitive to their plights he question.
He claimed the president will go down as one of the insensitive presidents in the history of the 1992 Constitutional dispensation.
He minces words to say the president is very insensitive to the people living around his and his actions towards them smacks of the what Nebuchadnezzar did in the Bible.
