Renowned Sports journalist, Ekow Asmah has said Inaki Williams’ inability to pull his weight since switching nationalities is a result of some political players in the team and has urged the head coach of the side, Chris Hughton to deal with such political players.

“Inaki is not a bad player, it is quite surprising that he is still yet to find his feet in the Black Stars. There are certain political players in the team and when the new boys come into the team and are not integrated into the team immediately, they struggle. Chris Hughton should deal with these political players soon because if he doesn’t it later turns out to be a problem,” Asmah remarked in an interview on Happy FM.

The Athletic Bilbao forward has struggled to showcase his prowess since making his debut for Ghana in their 2-0 friendly defeat against Brazil in September 2022.

The 29-year-old in 9 appearances is yet to find the back of the net for Ghana, a situation which has seen many calls for the former Spanish international’s starting place in the team rescinded.

He will be hoping to score his first goal for the Black Stars when Ghana hosts Liberia in a friendly on Tuesday 11 September at the Accra Sports Stadium.
