The BlueLight Traders Association (BTLA) has issued a public apology to the Minister for Interior, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, following an incident involving disrespectful behavior by some individuals during his recent visit to the community.

In a press release signed by the association’s interim executive, BTLA condemned the actions of the individuals, describing them as regrettable and unreflective of the association’s values. The statement emphasized that the Minister had come in goodwill to support victims of a recent fire outbreak that devastated the BlueLight trading area, leaving many traders and their families in distress.

“We sincerely apologize to Hon. Muntaka for this regrettable occurrence, believing strongly that this action was a result of misunderstanding and miscommunication among some members, in distressing times like these, frustrations and emotions can run high, sometimes leading to unintended expressions of displeasure,” the statement read.

The association acknowledged the Minister’s generosity in donating food items to affected traders and appealed for the return of these items to ensure proper distribution to those in need.

BTLA also expressed appreciation for Hon. Muntaka’s commitment to assisting in the reconstruction of the trading area, emphasizing their hope for continued collaboration in the spirit of unity and goodwill.

The interim executive, including Maxwell Annor Yeboah, Alex Kwaku Brenya, Derrick Amoako, and Ebenezer Tweneboah Koduah, signed the apology and reaffirmed their dedication to maintaining a respectful and cooperative relationship with government officials.
