The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (CoMAC) has welcomed the revised implementation date for the Energy Sector Levies Act 2025 (Act 1141), now set for June 16, 2025.

Initially scheduled to take effect on June 9, the levy faced opposition from CoMAC, prompting discussions between key stakeholders, including the Ministries of Energy and Green Transition, Finance, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Following constructive engagements, the government revised the implementation date, a move CoMAC commended as a reflection of stakeholder collaboration and responsiveness.

The Chamber expressed appreciation for the dialogue that led to this decision, reinforcing the importance of engagement in policy implementation.
