The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations is set to hold its inaugural official meeting with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Information and Communications to outline a clear set of activities to be undertaken by the Ministry and its agencies.

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Information and Communications is responsible for examining matters related to information and communications. It holds the authority to investigate and inquire into the activities and administration of ministries, departments, and agencies within its mandate.

The meeting, scheduled to take place from Sunday, June 8 to Monday, June 9, 2025, was announced on the Ministry’s official page.

Minister Sam Nartey George, over the past few months, has focused on key areas requiring urgent attention to enhance communication and innovation in Ghana.

Some of the initiatives he is committed to addressing include reducing data pricing, fostering regional and continental cooperation to accelerate the development of AI and promote its ethical use in Africa, improving efficiency in the digital technology space through knowledge acquisition, and creating more job opportunities in the sector.
