The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has announced the immediate termination of contracts for all caterers engaged under the initiative nationwide.
This move is part of a broader restructuring exercise aimed at reforming the programme, according to a directive issued by the GSFP Secretariat.
A statement signed by Hajia Fati Forgor, National Coordinator of GSFP on Friday, May 2, 2025, instructed that no current caterer under the programme is permitted to provide meals during the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year. This abrupt decision affects thousands of caterers who have been providing meals to public school pupils across the country.
The statement assured that all outstanding arrears for the second term of the 2024/2025 academic year will be paid in due course.
The Secretariat has indicated that details regarding the recruitment of new caterers will be communicated soon as part of the restructuring plan.
Stakeholders, including the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), regional coordinators, and the Controller and Accountant General, have been copied in the directive.
