Daniel Afriyie Barnieh gave a very good account for himself after being handed his first Black Stars starting berth against Switzerland earlier today and really represented our indigenous game pretty well.

He’s been with the Black Stars for sometime now but he had the opportunity to start today on the right flanks and was frequently switching into the center forward role with Inaku Williams.

The Black Stars exhibited a five star display in the game to humble the Red Crosses by an emphatic 2-0 in their final friendly before the 2022 World Cup which commences this Sunday.

English-based defender Salisu Mohammed opened the scoring account on the 69th minute before substitute Antoine Semenyo sealed the win over the 15th-ranked country, just four minutes after.

The Hearts of Oak marksman started and enjoyed 62 minutes of action and was replaced by Kamal Sowah. He really excelled in the game of which he stated it was a good one with no pressure since he stuck to what the coaches ordered him to do.

“It was a good game. There was no pressure. I stuck to what the coaches said and everything went well for me.” He told JoySports George Addo Jnr.

Ghana will spend few more days in Abu Dhabi before they proceed to Qatar for the main competition. They will face Portugal in their opener exactly today’s at the Stadium 947 in the capital, Doha.
