Drivers in Twifo Praso and surrounding areas will no longer have to travel long distances to Dunkwa or Cape Coast for licensing and vehicle registration services, following the establishment of a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Isaac Yawson, announced the development, describing it as a major relief for motorists in communities such as Assin Fosu and Hemang Lower Denkyira. He noted that the new office will significantly improve access to driving-related services, road safety, and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Yawson commended the Member of Parliament for the area, T.D. Vondee, and Council of State member, Hakim, for their advocacy and lobbying efforts, which played a crucial role in securing the facility.
He also pledged the district assembly’s support for the newly assigned DVLA officer, assuring that resources would be made available to ensure smooth operations.
The opening of the DVLA office is expected to ease the stress on drivers, enhance efficiency in service delivery, and boost local economic activity by bringing essential services closer to residents.
