Coach Christopher Nimley minced no words in expressing his dissatisfaction with the Black Stars’ performance, demanding the sacking of the entire technical team, including head coach Chris Hughton.

Nimley in an interview on Happy FM, criticized Hughton’s decisions and questioned the inclusion of certain players, delivering a scathing assessment of the team’s current state.

“If we are sacking Chris Hughton, the entire technical team should be sacked because they are a part and parcel of this non-performing Black Stars team. Chris Hughton is a joke if he continues to coach the team the way he is doing,” Nimley asserted passionately during the interview.

“Why call a clubless player to the team? Clearly he doesn’t know what he is doing. How can you tell me Edmund Addo is better than Jeffrey Schlupp of Crystal Palace,” he added, highlighting his concerns about the selection choices made by the coaching staff.

Earlier today, head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton named his squad for the first round of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The squad has three goalkeepers including Joseph Wollacott who returned to the squad after recovering from his injury.

Baba Rahman missed out on the squad while Kasim Nuhu Adams also made a return to the squad.Daniel Amartey, Mohammed Kudus, and the Ayew brothers are all in the squad.

Ghana will take on Madagascar and Comoros later this month in Group I of the African qualifiers for the 2026 mundial.
