Gasmilla, the renowned Ghanaian artist, has released a stirring new song that resonates deeply with the Ga community. Titled “Gam3i!”, this thought-provoking track which loosely translates as “The Gas” delivers a poignant message that echoes the struggles and triumphs of the Ga people. Through his lyrics, Gasmilla seeks to awaken the Ga consciousness and pride, urging his community to reclaim their lost dignity and strength.
“I believe that music has the power to inspire and uplift,” he adds. “With Gam3i!’, I want to awaken the Ga consciousness and pride, and encourage my community to take action towards a brighter future.”

“Once we were warriors” Gasmilla said so we have to rise to the occasion

The song begins with a haunting melody, setting the tone for Gasmilla’s powerful lyrics:

“In ancient times, Gas’ were known for admonishing strength and power
We were conquering empires and victorious in battles
How come today we are being disrespected?
We have prioritized our taboos and lost our dignity and pride”

Gasmilla boldly addresses the decline of the Ga community’s former glory, questioning how they went from being a powerful and respected people to facing disrespect and marginalization. He highlights how the prioritization of taboos has led to a loss of dignity and pride.

The chorus rings out with a sense of urgency

“Gas we have to rise!
Every action has its own consequences
If it is destroyed, we will all be affected
Therefore we have to rise”

Gasmilla’s impassioned plea is clear, the Ga community must come together and reclaim their strength, pride, and dignity. He emphasizes that every action has consequences and that collective inaction will only lead to further decline.

“Gam3i!” is a rallying cry for the Ga community to awaken and reclaim their heritage. Gasmilla’s powerful lyrics and soaring melody make this song an anthem for a generation. Let us heed the call and rise together to restore the Ga community to its former glory.

Listen to “Gam3i!” now and join the movement!
