Ghana FA Decides: Edna Quargraine targets women representation across Regional Football Association

Aspirant for Ghana FA Executive Council, Edna Quargraine in an interview on Happy FM says she will work to ensure all the various Regional Football Associations in Ghana will have female representatives.

According to her, this will be one of the best ways of improving women’s football at the grassroots.

She also indicated that one of the policies she will champion when voted on to the Executive Council will be the creation of Under 17 and 23 national teams.

The Chief Executive Officer and Head Coach of Inter- Royals Ladies F/C revealed that lack of competitive football in the country is a major reason why the Black Queens performed poorly against Kenya in the Olympic Qualifiers.

“Our preparation for games is bad. Other countries are doing well by arranging friendly matches and early camping for their female teams but we don’t. Nigeria can go for training tours in Europe ahead of tournaments but in Ghana, it’s totally different,” she told Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Anopa Bosuo Sports.

Edna Quargraine urged the delegates to vote for the right person who will consider the welfare of the players.

“I am pleading with delegates and don’t miss this four years. We should think about female players. They should vote for the right person to lead. It is not too late for them to change their minds and vote for the right person,” she added.
