The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 10 new cases of Mpox in its latest weekly update, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 19 as of May 26, 2025.
In a public health alert shared on the official GHS Facebook page on May 27, no new deaths have been recorded, and the total death toll remains at zero. Currently, five individuals are on admission receiving medical care.
In an effort to keep the public informed and encourage proactive health behavior, the Ghana Health Service has announced that Mpox updates will be posted every Tuesday on their social media platforms.
The public is being urged to take preventive measures seriously to reduce the risk of infection. These include avoiding close contact with symptomatic individuals, practicing proper hand hygiene, and refraining from sharing personal items.
The Service has further advised anyone who develops a rash or experiences unexplained illness to seek immediate medical attention.
