Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC), umbrella company of three (3) pace setting giants in the Ghanaian broadcasting space, Happy98.9FM, YFM (Accra, Kumasi & Takoradi), and e.TV Ghana in partnership with Ghana’s favourite Insurance group, Hollard Ghana has officially launched the Insurance and Financial theme series which will run throughout the months of August and September.

The launch which took place on the Happy Morning Show outdoored two exciting months of public education on Insurance and Financial Literacy coupled with in-depth discussions with resource persons on all issues that bother on Financial Literacy and Insurance.

Speaking on the rationale behind the dedication of the entire months of August and September as Insurance and Financial theme series, Director of Finance and Marketing at GMABC Austin Ampem told Samuel Eshun: “What we do with the theme series is to take one key topic which we know impacts Ghanaians and over a period of two months or three we focus mainly on it and educate the general public; throwing more light on many areas that they do not know or understand so that those who have a grey understanding of key aspects are also enlightened. And for these two months, our focus will be on financial literacy and insurance which promises to be big.

Finance and Insurance are key in our lives. What insurance does is to protect our livelihoods for the present and the future. What happens if something tragic happens to the point that you lose all properties you have acquired? Insurance groups like Hollard come to your aid. But a lot of people do not understand Insurance. That is why we think these theme series will be avenues for all to learn”.

Cynthia Ofori-Dwumfuo, Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Affairs of Hollard Ghana on her part expressed that partnering the theme series a second time is a great experience as Hollard was impressed with the first.

She stated, “Last year we were very satisfied with the partnership. We had the opportunity to engage with the young and young at heart. We had the opportunity to engage with various sections of the Ghanaian public and through interviews and conversations, social media tips and every sort of touchpoint across all channels, we were able to educate people about insurance and it was only made possible through the GMABC platform so we were definitely very happy about the engagement and looking forward to this year’s as well.

Commenting on Hollard’s expectation for this year, Cynthia mentioned that they have a higher expectation which includes going beyond educating people on finance and insurance and embarking on the “journey of a better future for all”.
