The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a domestic fire outbreak at Kwashieman Been-To in Accra, leaving one person injured and parts of a residential property destroyed.
A statement filed by the Greater Accra Regional Public Relations Officer on Monday, February 16, 2026 said the fire broke out on February 14, 2026, at about 3:27 p.m.
The GNFS crew responded swiftly, arriving at the scene eight minutes later at 3:35 p.m. Firefighters brought the blaze under control at 3:47 p.m., before fully extinguishing it at 4:45 p.m.
The incident affected a domestic property, completely destroying one bedroom and its contents.
Another bedroom and the hall were partially damaged. An unspecified amount of money was also partially burnt in the fire. However, firefighters managed to salvage three adjoining rooms, preventing further destruction.
One casualty, identified as 53-year-old Pastor Matthew, sustained injuries and was attended to at the scene before being transported to the Ablekuma North Polyclinic for medical treatment.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
