GPLonHappyFM: Aduana Stars pip Hearts of Oak in Dormaa

Hearts of Oak were handed their first defeat of the season by Aduana Stars in their opening fixture of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians were looking to start the season on a positive note but once again failed to break their poor away record against Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

The game started with a lot of intensity from the two teams.

Aduana Stars had the first chance at goal in the 26th minute through captain of the side Bright Adjei but he failed to put the direct his effort at goal.

Hearts of Oak came close to scoring in the closing minutes of the first half through Dennis Nkrumah Korsah but his shoot was denied by the crossbar.

After recess, Bright Adjei scored the match winner for Aduana Stars as Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian recorded his first win of the season. 

Hearts of Oak international duo Yassan Outaching and Junior Kaaba made their debut in the league for The Phobians. 

Elsewhere, New entrants Oda Kotoku Royals also recorded their first win of the season against Accra Lions at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

New Medeama coach David Duncan also got off to a good start with an away win against Legon Cities at the El Wak Sports Stadium. 

The Royals finished the game with 10-men.

Bibiani Gold Stars 0-1 Dreams 

Karela 1-0  Tamale City

Kotoku Royals 1-0 Accra Lions 

Legon Cities 0-1 Medeama 

Real Tamale United 0-0 Samartex

Great Olympics 1-0 Bechem United
