The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media and other platforms suggesting that the price of cement will increase by GH¢6 today, Monday, January 19, 2026.
In a statement issued and signed by the Director-General of the Authority, Prof. George Agyei, the GSA clarified that no such directive has been issued by the Cement Manufacturing Development Committee.
The Committee, which includes the Ghana Standards Authority, has not approved or announced any increment in cement prices.
The Authority cautioned the public against relying on unverified information and urged consumers, traders, and industry players to confirm the authenticity of such claims through official GSA communication channels before taking any action.
The GSA reiterated its commitment to transparency and accurate public information, encouraging the public to contact the Authority directly for clarification where necessary.
