The Journey Begins
May 17, 2025 – First Prelims at Kasoa
The cooking contest started at Kasoa Old Market Lorry Park. Four zongo teams came to show their cooking skills:
– Kasoa-Zongo
– Fadama-Zongo
– Tuba-Zongo
– Sabon-Zongo

The smell of spices filled the air as teams prepared their best dishes. Everyone was excited to see who would make it to the finals.
Second Round Excitement
June 14, 2025 – Prelims at Nima Market
The second preliminary round brought more excitement to Nima Market – Lorry Station. Four more teams joined the competition:
– Nima-Zongo
– Mamobi-Zongo
– Madina-Zongo
– Ashaiman-Zongo

Cooks prepared traditional foods like Tuo Zaafi, Jollof rice, and Omo Tuo. The community came out to cheer for their teams.


The Grand Finale
June 28, 2025 – Championship Day at Fadama Station
All the best teams met at Fadama Station near the Chief Imam’s house for the big final. Eight teams competed for the top prizes:
The Winners:
1st Place: Fourth Floor Team
– Won refrigerators for each team member
– Hampers full of Tasty Tom products
– Fortune rice and other great prizes

2nd Place: Fadama-Zongo
– Won deep fryers from Happy FM
– Tasty Tom and Wilmar hampers

3rd Place: Madina-Zongo
– Won rice cookers from Happy FM
– Tasty Tom and Wilmar Africa hampers


The Celebration
The finale was full of fun with:
– Music and dancing
– Performance by Kobby Shawn
– Happy FM presenters Bismark Brown and K Boafo
– MCs Adjeley-Bi Darku and Akua Sika keeping everyone entertained



Special Visit
Happy FM management visited His Eminence Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, at his home to show respect and share the joy of the competition.

The Story Continues…
The Salah Food Fest showed that food brings people together. It celebrated the beautiful cooking traditions of Ghana’s zongo communities and proved that unity and love can create something amazing.
