Hearts of Oak: ‘Even the Black Stars are struggling to score goals’ – Matin Koopman on his team’s difficulty in finding the back of the net

Hearts of Oak tactician, Martin Oak, has addressed his team’s difficulty in finding the net in the premier league, stating that both he and his players are not to blame.

In an interview with StarTimes after a goalless draw with Samartex on October 21, 2023, Oak expressed his frustration with the team’s lack of goals.

“We will do everything to win games and actually they (the fans) must come and look how we work with the boys,” said Koopman. “I think I am not the problem and also not the players. They give everything but we need experience and we need a goal and we step over the problem. There is the same problem in the National team.”

The Phobians currently sit in 12th position on the league standings, with just one win out of five games. Their only goal of the season came in that victory, while they have also suffered two losses and two draws. Despite their struggles, Oak believes that the team gives their best effort in every game but have simply not been fortunate enough to find the back of the net.

Hearts of Oak’s next game will be an away match against Bibiani Gold Stars.
