The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Kumbumgu in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak has given a strong indication of organizing the biggest demonstration in the history of the country over the siting of a United States of America military base facility in the country.
I intend organizing the one of the biggest demonstrations in the history of this country that will surpass ‘Kumepreko’ among others he said.
I will bring people to flood the streets of Accra more than what was done in Egypt and Tunisia over the governing New Patriotic Party’s decision to gift access to the United States of America milItary to take over the security of the country he said on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
What is twenty million Dollars for the sovereignty of the nation, what moneys hasn’t the USA stolen enough from us legitimately or illegitimately so, if they are giving us our moneys back must we sell our birth right to them he questioned.
According to him, if the NPP claims that the National Democratic Congress administration through Hannah Tetteh ,the Foreign Affairs Minister signed any agreement with the USA over the creation of Military base , then the NPP should make the agreement available.
The NPP and its Minister for Defence cannot throw dust into the majority of Ghanaians who are against the party’s decision to offer unfeted access to the US military he said.
He called on the NPP to live above reproach and stop playing the equalization game in relation to the deal with the US government.
