The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nkoranza North says, invoking curses on the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the Electoral Commission (EC), and the police has yielded the needed results.

The NDC claims these institutions are conspiring to rig the elections by busing people to different locations to transfer their votes.

In the Nkoranza North constituency, NDC members alleged that the NPP was transporting voters from Agona in the Ashanti Region to transfer their votes. As a response, they invoked curses on NPP members involved in the alleged busing as well as on EC and police officers who they claim were partakers in the act.

The NDC constituency secretary for Nkoranza North, Emmanuel Ballasi told Happyghana.com that some of the bused people admitted being brought from Agona, but the police insisted they should be allowed since they are also Ghanaians. He noted that within a period of two days, 341 people had transferred their votes to the constituency, an unusually high number giving that the only institutions in the area that can employ more non residents are the poly clinic and the district assembly.

According to Emmanuel Ballasi that cofession called for a desperate action which they did. He stated that they used eggs and schnapps to call upon their gods Tuo-Nkramo, Antua Nyama, and Gyambi to punish anyone attempting to transport voters to their constituency.
He said that their actions were successful, as no one has been brought to the constituency for vote transfers since invoking the curse.
