Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a passionate appeal to the people of Ghana, seeking their mandate to lead the country as President, leveraging his experience and achievements as Vice President to bolster his bid for the highest office.

Addressing a gathering of young people at the Youth Connect event in the Ashanti Region as part of his Ashanti Regional tour, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia highlighted his impressive track record and numerous accomplishments, confidently asserting that his performance surpasses that of all previous Vice Presidents in Ghana’s Fourth Republic, demonstrating his exceptional leadership and vision.

Dr. Bawumia pointed to his outstanding tenure as Vice President as a testament to his readiness for the highest office, emphasizing that his remarkable achievements, innovative policy initiatives, and transformative contributions have distinguished him as the most qualified candidate for the presidency, setting him apart from others.

“My accomplishments are a testament to my dedication and hard work. When you evaluate the performance of Vice Presidents in the Fourth Republic, my achievements shine brighter. While my predecessors, like John Mahama, struggle to point to a single initiative they led, I have successfully spearheaded 33 policy initiatives. The comparison is clear: 33 to zero. It’s time to recognize my exceptional service and promote me to the presidency, where I can continue to drive progress and excellence,” he said.

He reasoned that his prolonged tenure would foster increased accountability, as he would still be beholden to the people’s trust in 2028, ensuring a continued focus on their needs and aspirations, rather than merely seeking short-term gains.
