Residents of Gomoa Buduburam in the Gomoa East Constituency of the Central region are appealing to the government for assistance, as the ongoing construction of the Kasoa-Winneba road has created numerous problems and safety concerns. The community is alarmed by the massive hole dug by the contractor in the middle of the town, which poses a significant risk of accidents and injuries, particularly at night.

They said the blasting of rocks during construction has become a constant threat to their lives, as residents are not informed in advance about the blasting schedule, leading to sudden and terrifying explosions.

The residents lament that the lack of prior warning leaves them unaware and unprepared, causing fear and panic. Additionally, the blasting has resulted in rocks falling onto their rooftops, causing damage to their buildings and properties. The community is pleading with the government to intervene and address these pressing concerns, ensuring their safety and well-being during the construction process.

The Assembly Member for Buduburam electoral area, Emmanuel Dogbe has acknowledged the concerns of the community regarding the blasting of rocks during the Kasoa-Winneba road construction. While he recognizes that blasting is an essential part of the construction process, he has pledged to advocate for the constructors to engage in public outreach and awareness initiatives. This, he believes, will enable residents to be informed and prepared for the blasting activities, minimizing fear and panic.

Mr Dogbe has urged the people of Buduburam to remain calm and assured them that the Assembly and government are working diligently to expedite the construction of the road. He is committed to ensuring that the concerns of the community are addressed and that the construction process is completed with minimal disruption to their lives.
