President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing the long-delayed upgrade of the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital into a Teaching Hospital.
During a visit to the project site in Sekondi, he addressed local chiefs and residents, assuring them that the stalled development would soon resume.
The President explained that construction had been halted due to the government’s debt restructuring programme, but emphasized that swift action would now be taken to finish the project.
He highlighted the importance of the upgrade in easing the burden on existing health facilities and improving access to advanced medical care in the Western Region.
Mahama’s visit underscored his dedication to strengthening healthcare infrastructure nationwide, with the Effia Nkwanta project serving as a key pillar in that vision.
